This unit provides the learner with the knowledge and skills that address personal interaction and the use of specific methods and aids to promote communication.

Upon completion of this unit, the learner will:

• Understand specific communication needs and factors affecting them

• Be able to contribute to establishing the nature of specific communication needs of individuals and ways to address them

• Be able to interact with individuals using their preferred communication

• Be able to promote communication between individuals and others

• Know how to support the use of communication technology and aids

• Be able to review an individual’s communication needs and the support provided to address them

Our blended learning approach means you have the flexibility to build your knowledge at a pace that works you via our online portfolio of learning materials. Whilst any practical training requirements can be delivered at one of our Training Centres in Antrim, Armagh, Ballymena, Banbridge, Belfast, Newtownabbey, Dublin and Monaghan. Alternatively, we can deliver the practical training within your workplace, or any other suitable venue in Northern Ireland (NI) or the Republic of Ireland.
