This unit provides information on providing care to maintain healthy skin and prevent skin breakdown, by undertaking pressure area care in accordance with an individual’s care plan and risk assessment

Upon completion of this unit, the learner will:

• Understand the anatomy and physiology of the skin in relation to pressure area care

• Understand good practice in relation to own role when undertaking pressure area care

• Be able to follow the agreed care plan

• Understand the use of materials, equipment and resources that are available when undertaking pressure area care

• Be able to prepare to undertake pressure area care

• Be able to undertake pressure area care

Our blended learning approach means you have the flexibility to build your knowledge at a pace that works you via our online portfolio of learning materials. Whilst any practical training requirements can be delivered at one of our Training Centres in Antrim, Armagh, Ballymena, Banbridge, Belfast, Newtownabbey, Dublin and Monaghan. Alternatively, we can deliver the practical training within your workplace, or any other suitable venue in Northern Ireland (NI) or the Republic of Ireland.
